Hiking the Camino -- Almost Everything You Need To Know
Again this year, for the 6th time, we will offer the popular Camino-preparation class through the Santa Fe College Community Education program in Gainesville FL.The course is designed for people considering hiking the Camino. It is full of practical advice and information from the trail. More than half of those who have taken the class in the past have subsequently walked a section, or all, of the Camino. The class will meet on three consecutive Tuesdays, February 2, 9, and 16 from 6:30 to 8:00. If there is interest, we will lead a training walk at San Felasco Hammock the following Saturday, the 20th. This class is eligible for Senior Waivers. There will be plenty of time to talk about whatever the folks in this group want to discuss. We will have a short set of photos each of the three nights to give a feel for what the trail and villages are like. We will highlight differences of the experience in France, Spain, and Portugal, all of which have major sections of the trail. Come and join the fun. |
