Being Hospitaleros: A Different Camino Experience
Hospitaleros manage the albergues where many pilgrims spend their nights. At albergues that ask only for a donation, rather than having a fixed fee for staying, the hospitaleros often are volunteers who pay all their own expenses and take no payment for their service. This is a different and exciting way of experiencing the Camino. We were volunteer hospitaleros in El Burgo Ranero from April 30 to May 15, 2013. Our blog posts follow.
